Providing police or fire assistance in a life threatening emergency is always a challenge. But, imagine the difficulty encountered by public safety personnel if an individual is unable to communicate with those giving care.
The City of Oak Forest will provide a free emergency identification bracelet to any resident who may have a physical or mental disability that substantially limits his or her ability to communicate. Each bracelet contains a coded number that allows Oak Forest emergency personnel to quickly obtain information such as the individual's name, address, telephone number, birth date, allergies, medical conditions, and emergency contact.
