[ARCHIVED] First installment property tax bills will be arriving soon

First installment property tax bills will be mailed soon

UPDATE 01/29/2025

As the first installment of our property taxes arrives in your mailbox, I would like to remind you of some important aspects to consider.

  1. The first installment represents 55% of the total amount of property taxes that were paid in 2024.
  2. No exemptions will be applied to this first installment; such exemptions will only be reflected in the second installment.
  3. The Cook County Assessor’s Office has communicated that exemption forms are expected to be available in March.

Once the exemption forms become accessible, I will make available the forms in my office as well as at City Hall for your convenience.

_____________

First installment property tax bills will be mailed out shortly. To ensure that you are prepared, view your tax bill at cookcountytreasurer.com. The Cook County Treasurer's website is a convenient way to access your billing information prior to its arrival in the mail. Additionally, exemption forms will be made available in March. These forms can provide potential savings, so be sure to review your eligibility and submit the necessary documents promptly.

If you have any questions or need assistance regarding your property tax bill, please contact Taxpayer Advocate Grace Bardusk at 708-687-4050, ext. 1031.
