On December 11 at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Oak Forest Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 15802 Terrace Drive. Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire from a third-floor unit that eventually spread to the roof. Firefighters aggressively battled the blaze from the inside of the building while conducting a search of the third floor. The fire required a box alarm dispatch of surrounding fire departments to bring it under control.
One resident was treated at the scene for minor first-degree burns. Although the building is uninhabitable, no residents required assistance from the American Red Cross.
The fire is under investigation.
