From April 20 through April 24, residents of single-family homes can dispose of multiple bulk items on their regular garbage day.
Cleanup Week is held in cooperation with Homewood Disposal, the city’s waste hauler. Residents are asked to place all trash and bulk items curbside by 6 a.m. on their pick-up day. Please be sure to bag, contain, or bundle garbage at the curb.
Residents can dispose of durable goods or household items such as mattresses, furniture and carpet, as well as washers, dryers and refrigerators – please take doors off appliances before placing curbside.
Unfortunately, Cleanup Week does not include hazardous materials or electronics. However, residents can schedule e-waste pickups by calling Homewood Disposal at 708-798-1004 or completing an online form. Acceptable items include televisions/monitors, printers, computers, electronic keyboards, video game consoles, and more.
Finally, Public Works chipping crews will be following Homewood Disposal’s pickup schedule. Please leave your branches at the curb by 7 a.m. on your pickup day.
