The City of Oak Forest has named Tim Moss as its new deputy fire chief, effective immediately. Moss’ appointment was approved by the City Council on Tuesday, September 12.“Tim will be a great addition to our leadership team,” said Mayor Hank Kuspa. “His years of experience, involvement in community events, and passion for fire prevention initiatives will be a big asset as we continue to enhance operating procedures within the fire department.”Moss was hired by the City of Oak Forest in 1991 and became a firefighter/paramedic in his first year on the job. He has moved up through the ranks of the department – serving as a lieutenant since 2009. Moss was instrumental in developing the department’s current fire prevention program, which is one of the most progressive and active program’s in the area. In addition to his firefighting duties, Moss serves on the Oak Forest Firefighters Pension Board and the Foreign Fire Tax Board. He also serves as the 4th district commander for the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois Honor Guard, which promotes the firefighting profession and provides honorable services for fallen members through organization of and participation in funeral and memorial services.Moss was born and raised in Oak Forest and still resides here with his family.
