Every day our drinking water is being contaminated with prescription drugs being dumped down drains, toilets or in garbage. You can drop unwanted, unused, and expired medications in the receptacle in the police department lobby. The Cook County Sheriff's Office will dispose of them in a safe and environmentally-friendly way. This program is is made possible, in part, by funding provided by the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.
