We are pleased to announce the appointment of Hunter Heyman as our new community planner. Hunter is set to graduate from the University of Michigan in May, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in real estate and urban planning.
His academic journey has equipped him with significant experience in urban planning, business development, and real estate, particularly through his internship as a development analyst at Hines, a leading global real estate investment manager. During this internship, he developed a capstone presentation for the development team, emphasizing how collaboration with pro-development organizations in the entitlement process can reduce risks, expedite market entry, and enhance returns, thereby providing him with practical insights into community and economic development.
Moreover, Hunter has actively contributed to the community as the founder of Strong Towns Chicago and has served as president of the Urbanism Club at the University of Michigan, where he focused on initiatives that reduce car dependency, promote affordable student housing, and enhance financial sustainability. These experiences have solidified his expertise in community engagement, planning, and project management, equipping him to meet the flexible and dynamic demands of this role.
We eagerly anticipate Hunter's arrival on May 12.
