[ARCHIVED] City of Oak Forest names Moses Amidei as city administrator

Welcome, Moses Amidei

The City of Oak Forest has named Moses Amidei as city administrator, following a six-month search process conducted by a committee comprised of staff and alderpersons. Amidei’s first day will be Friday, May 30.

“Moses brings years of experience and expertise to the position,” said Mayor Jim Hortsman. “I think he will be a good asset to our community. His background in economic development and public works will be invaluable in advancing key projects and implementing strategic initiatives to keep the city moving forward.”

Amidei is a credentialed manager of the International City/County Management Association with more than 23 years of experience in service to uniquely different Illinois municipalities, including Forest Park, Wadsworth and Highwood. Through his previous roles, Amidei gained vast experience in public safety matters, infrastructure improvements, sustainability planning, and service delivery.

“As the son of public servants and a recipient of the Chick Evans Scholarship, I understand the importance of integrity, accountability, and a commitment to serving the public good,” Amidei said. “I am excited to use my experience and skills to further strengthen the great sense of community in Oak Forest.”

A graduate of Northern Illinois University, Amidei holds a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in political science.
