City Hall will be open Saturday, December 28, 2019
The City Hall Clerk's Office is open one Saturday a month (except June). After hours, all payments can be dropped in the Night Depository Mail slot to the right of the City Hall main entrance.

Project Fire Buddies has reached the hearts of Olympic gold medalist, Kendall Coyne Schofield, and her husband, Michael Schofield, L.A. Chargers offensive lineman and Super Bowl 50 Champion. Their charitable organization, the Schofield Family Foundation will be working with Project Fire Buddies this holiday season. The Schofield Family Foundation is dedicated to providing funding, support, and awareness to improve the lives of others, including military, first responders, youth sports organizations, families in need and furthering the advancement of education and research.

Between the kind and generous hearts of those who already donated and the addition of the Schofield Family Foundation donations, Project Fire Buddies is confident that our little buddies and their families will have a beautiful and Merry Christmas.

Metra Safety Poster and
Essay Contest

For the 14th straight year, Metra asked the region's students to illustrate through posters or essays the importance of safe behaviors near railroad tracks and rail crossings. The theme for the 2019-2020 school year: “Obey the Signs" emphasizes the importance of looking for and obeying signs and control devices that are installed along the railroad tracks and at rail crossings.

The contest is open to all students in grades K through 12 living or attending school in Metra’s six-county service area: Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will. The deadline for all entries is Friday, Jan. 31, 2020.

One first-, second- and third-place winner will be selected from each grade, K through 12, and awarded the following prizes:
First Place: iPad
Second Place: $250 gift card
Third Place: $100 gift card

Part-time Community Bus Driver

The City of Oak Forest is seeking a part-time bus driver for the City of Oak Forest’s Community Bus service. Duties include transporting passengers to and from destinations as required, determining most efficient routing of trips, and providing a professional and safe operation of the vehicle. Prior para-transit or shuttle bus driving experience is a plus.

Join the Oak Forest Senior Commission!

The Oak Forest Senior Commission is looking for senior citizens who might like to serve as members of this commission, which meets in City Hall on every second Wednesday of the month at 1:00 PM.

The Senior Commission gets involved in various community events, such as the annual Health Fair at the Oak Forest Park District and monthly senior lunches at the Oak Forest Community Center.
