Celebrate Flag Day

Celebrate Flag Day on June 14, 2020

The first celebration of the U.S. Flag's birthday was held in 1877 on the 100th anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777.  In 1916, the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777 became a nationally observed event by a proclamation by President Woodrow Wilson.  It was not designated as National Flag Day until August 3, 1949, when an Act of Congress designated June 14th of each year as National Flag Day.

Garage Sale Permits

Don't let the cancellation of the City-Wide Garage Sale stop you from holding your very own garage sale.  Residents can conduct a rummage, garage or other similar sale three times a year from the same premises.  Remember not to obstruct sidewalks or public parkways and no sales can start before 9:00 a.m. or extend beyond 8:00 p.m.  Also, please remember to submit a garage sale permit and your treasures can find a new home!
