Police Department creates Internet purchase exchange zone


Oak Forest residents can sell their goods online with a little more confidence now that the Oak Forest Police Department has created an Internet purchase exchange zone in its lobby and parking lot.  Although residents are welcome to make the transactions in the lobby or parking lot, police department personnel will not oversee the transactions or meet with participants.

ComEd streetlight upgrade underway
 

Commonwealth Edison has begun upgrading its existing streetlights with new light emitting diode (LED) fixtures in Oak Forest.  The retrofit program will be completed at no cost to the city as part of ComEd’s street lighting infrastructure upgrades.  ComEd streetlights are those found on wooden poles within the neighborhoods.

Last chance to be a vendor at the farmers market


The Oak Forest Farmers Market is looking for farmers, nursery growers, artisans, prepared food vendors/food trucks, craftsmen/artisans, etc. to give our patrons a great selection and variety of goods to purchase.  We're interested in finding vendors who are creative, resourceful, and willing to help our market continue to grow.  

Become a trained weather spotter


It is that time of year again. The season for an increase in thunderstorms and tornadoes. Learn how to identify criteria of severe thunderstorms, how to stay safe, and how to report severe weather events to the National Weather Service. Trained spotters can make a big difference and possibly save lives of others during severe weather events. Training will take place at City Hall at 7:15 p.m. on April 15.

City Hall will be closed Saturday, April 2.  During non-business hours, please use the night-deposit mail slot at City Hall, pay parking or ordinance tickets online or sign up for online water bill pay.
