Bremen Township is open for property tax appeals

Bremen Township is open for tax appeals until September 20. Appeal forms are available at City Hall. They must be completed and returned by September 26. If you have any questions, please contact Tax Advocate Guy Gattone at 708-687-4050, ext. 1031 or attend Cook County Commissioner Dan Patlak's tax appeal seminar on Tuesday, September 6 at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Beware of aggressive solicitors

Now that the city has ended its electrical aggregation program, there has been an increase in door-to-door solicitors, direct calls or direct mail pieces regarding electric supply.  If you have encountered an aggressive solicitor, we encourage you to file a complaint by calling the Illinois Commerce Commission’s Consumer Services Division at 800-524-0795 or online at icc.illinois.gov/consumer/complaint/wizard.aspx.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

This Labor Day, families and friends will be celebrating the end of the summer. Sadly, this festive time is also a dangerous time on our roads, as many alcohol- and drug-impaired drivers get behind the wheel after celebrating. For this reason, the Oak Forest Police Department is partnering with the Illinois Department of Transportation to stop drunk drivers and help save lives.
