Transitioning to veteran status?  Let the Veterans Commission know


The Oak Forest Veterans Commission wants to know when active duty military members will be transitioning to veteran status.  The commission promotes programs for veterans, raises awareness of veterans' welfare issues, recognizes the accomplishments of local veterans, and can help with veterans' issues and benefits.  The group meets the third Thursday of each month at City Hall.  Contact the commission at 708-473-2609 or ofveteranscomm@oak-forest.org.

Patch: Police K9 Memorial Possible in Oak Forest


Find out how you can help the Oak Forest Police Association bring a painted German Shepherd statue to Oak Forest as part of the Chicago Police Department Memorial Foundation's public art initiative. The statue would honor Oak Forest's past K9 units: K9 Dakota, K9 Orry and K9 Pitt.

Pete & Joe to perform at senior luncheon


Pete & Joe, an entertaining duo, will bring their song and wit to the Senior Luncheon on Thursday, April 27 at 11 a.m. at the Community Center. Ticket are available at City Hall for only $4 each. 

City Council meets next week


The City Council will meet on Tuesday, April 18 at 7 p.m. (Committee of the Whole) to discuss the draft fiscal year 2017-2018 budget.  Citizens are invited to attend the meetings and are welcome to participate at the designated time.
