Earlier this month, four Oak Forest police officers attended the National Police Officers Memorial Service in Washington D.C. in memory of Officer James P. Morrissy, who died in the line of duty in 2014.

The Oak Forest Police Department congratulates Sergeant Argelio Lopez on his graduation from the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University.  Sergeant Lopez successfully completed the 10-week program this month.

A Little Free Library outside Fierke Education Center has been dedicated in memory of a former student, Daniel Joost, who was killed in February 2016 at 18.

Low-cost rabies vaccine clinic coming to Crestwood


Cook County’s inaugural low-cost rabies vaccine clinic of 2017 will take place Tuesday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Southwest Ice Arena, 5550 W. 127th St., Crestwood. It is the first of more than 30 rabies vaccine clinics scheduled throughout suburban Cook County and Chicago.
