If you are a cable television subscriber, you can view the Community Information Channel (CIC-TV) on Comcast channel 19, Wide Open West channel 6 and AT&T U-verse channel 99 to learn more about city programs and events.  If you do not subscribe to cable television, you can watch Committee of the Whole and City Council meetings online or check out the DVDs at Acorn Public Library.

We're hiring! Full Time Animal Control Officer

The Animal Control Officer enforces the Illinois Animal Control Act and the applicable Oak Forest Ordinances regarding animals, rabies and related diseases.  The position is also responsible for the maintenance of records and reports, as well as the impounding, feeding, cleaning and disposal of animals as needed.   Resumes can be sent to dpreer@oak-forest.org

Oak Forest Police Sergeant Michael Lynch Jr. graduated from Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of Police Staff and Command. Oak Forest Police Officer Michael Lynch Sr. was on hand to support his son on his achievement.

The Oak Forest Senior Commission

The Oak Forest Senior Commission is looking for senior citizens who might like to serve as members of this commission, which meets in City Hall on every second Wednesday of the month at 1:00 PM.  The Senior Commission gets involved in various community events, such as the annual Health Fair at the Oak Forest Park District and monthly senior lunches at the Oak Forest Community Center.  Should you wish to join this commission, please contact the Mayor’s Office at 708-687-4050, extension 1005. 

"The Wall That Heals"

The City has announced that the replica of the Vietnam Veteran Memorial in Washington DC called " The Wall That Heals" will come to the City of Oak Forest in October of 2018. We will announce the exact date at a later date.

Are you registered to vote?
 
Are you registered to vote for State and Local candidates in the March 20th Primary Election?  To vote in Illinois, you must be a United States citizen, 18 years old on or before Election Day, live in your election precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day, not be convicted and in jail, and not claim to vote anywhere else. To register, go to City Hall during regular business hours.  You must have two forms of identification, both with signatures and current address.  You can also register online with a valid Illinois driver's license or state ID.  Early voting in Oak Forest begins on Saturday, March 5 and will end on Monday, March 19.
