Farmers Market returns tomorrow

The Oak Forest Farmer's Market is back tomorrow at the Metra train station from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring the kids for story time with Mrs. Brenda at 10 a.m.

Learn what’s going on at upcoming council meetings

The City Council will meet on Saturday, July 11 at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall for a Committee of the Whole meeting. The City Council also will meet on Tuesday, July 14 at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers for its regularly scheduled meeting. Citizens are invited to attend both meetings and are welcome to participate at the designated times.

Great food and great friends await Oak Forest seniors (60+) at the Bremen Cafe at 15350 Oak Park Avenue. Check out the menu and reserve your spot for lunch at noon by calling 708-687-8220. A $4 donation is requested but is not required. Lunch is provided by Bremen Township in partnership with AgeOptions.

If you are a cable television subscriber, you can view the Community Information Channel (CIC-TV) on Comcast channel 19, Wide Open West channel 6 and AT&T U-verse channel 99 to learn more about city programs and events. If you do not subscribe to cable television, you can watch Committee of the Whole and City Council meetings online or check out the DVDs at Acorn Public Library.
