During the City Council meeting on July 14, the Oak Forest Police Department received its certificate of accreditation award from the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).
National Night Out

Crime Prevention Commission hosts National Night Out on August 4


Join the Oak Forest Crime Prevention Commission, the Oak Forest Police Department and fellow residents in maintaining a safe and vibrant community at the 19th Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the gazebo at City Hall.


Cycle Across Illinois

Cycle Across Illinois will stop in Oak Forest to remember Officer Morrissy


The Illinois Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors will cycle through Oak Forest on July 19 at approximately 9:30 a.m. as part of its 11th Annual Cycle Across Illinois, a charity bike ride to support families of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.

Fun Fun Fun DJ

Fun Fun Fun DJ will be at the farmers market tomorrow at 9 a.m. 


The FUN starts bright and early tomorrow morning at the farmers market with Fun Fun Fun DJ at 9 a.m. Stop by with the kids and enjoy some music and trivia as you shop the fresh produce, jams, baked good, etc.  The market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Metra train station.

The City of Oak Forest is selling by sealed bid two vehicles that are no longer required for city service.  Bids are due July 30 by 4 p.m. 

Community Bus

Help Wanted: Part-time Community Bus Driver  


Join our team as a part-time community bus driver. Having experience operating a minimum 26-foot passenger bus or equivalent type of vehicle is desired. Having a detailed knowledge of the streets and business locations within the City of Oak Forest is strongly preferred. The possession of a state of Illinois Class ‘C’ Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a Passenger Endorsement is mandatory.
