Family Travel Survey by CMAPEarn $50 for taking a detailed survey about your daily travel: how you get around, how much time you spend in transit, the purpose of your trips.
The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is conducting this survey to better understand Chicago-area residents’ travel habits and needs, which will help determine how to use limited resources for future transportation investments. The survey is open until May 2019.

Early Voting and Interested Parties Memo at City Hall
Seeing all of those political ads on TV can mean only one thing, it's election season! The 2018 Gubernatorial Election is November 6 where Illinois voters will cast their ballot for Governor as well as local Congressman, County positions, and more.
Early voting helps anyone unable to vote at the assigned polling place on Election Day. Oak Forest City Hall will be an early voting location everyday from Monday, October 22 through Monday, November 5. The Clerk’s Office will also have Vote by Mail forms for this year’s election.

Please note that the 2019 Municipal Election will be held on April 2nd, 2019. The Clerk’s Office will be providing an Interested Parties Memo featuring detailed information and documents for residents interested in running for a City of Oak Forest position in that upcoming election. This memo will be made available in September when the Illinois State Board of Elections publishes the 2019 Candidates Guide.

CVHA, formerly the Chicago Bungalow Association, has helped 3700 homes in Chicago for the past 17 years with a staggering satisfaction rating of 9.98 out of 10! Check your eligibility below and apply. No detailed financial information needed!
Eligibility
To qualify for this program you must meet the following criteria: - Vintage single-family home built at least 50 years ago
- Home must be owner-occupied and receive electric delivery service from ComEd
- Located in Cook County
- Household income of 80% Area Median Income (AMI) or lower—see chart here.
Complete and submit the application either online or with the paper form. Paper forms are available at the City Hall front desk or you can download one here. Remember that no detailed financial information is needed except an approximate household income. The ComEd® Energy Efficiency Program services include attic and sidewall insulation, air sealing, health and safety measures, and installation of energy-saving products. Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony 2018
Mark you calendars for the City of Oak Forest Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11 AM! Watch the parade along Central Avenue as Santa and Mrs. Claus arrives at City Hall Campus! Watch them, with help from Mayor Hank Kuspa, light our city tree in the gazebo.
Grab some hot cocoa and treats while you enjoy carols and trees decorated by local organizations, groups and businesses!

Update: 159th and Cicero Improvements
The Illinois Department of Transportation has notified the City of Oak Forest that all lanes on 159th Street will be completed and opened by the beginning of November. The City is awaiting the updated work schedule from IDOT pertaining to the road and culvert construction impacting Cicero Avenue.

Join us Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the Senior Center (Oak Forest Community Center) 15501 S. Kilpatrick Avenue. Doors open at 10 AM. Entertainment begins at 11 AM. Lunch is at 12 noon. Join the Senior Commission!
The Oak Forest Senior Commission is looking for senior citizens who might like to serve as members of this commission, which meets in City Hall on every second Wednesday of the month at 1:00 PM.
The Senior Commission gets involved in various community events, such as the annual Health Fair at the Oak Forest Park District and monthly senior lunches at the Oak Forest Community Center.
