Project Fire Buddies

Project Fire Buddies
"Fill the Pack" Drive

Project Fire Buddies with help from the Oak Forest Fire Department is holding a “Fill the Pack” Drive throughout the summer for the upcoming 2019/2020 school year.

Approximately 200 students begin each school year with no backpack or supplies in our community. Project Fire Buddies wants to change that! They will be collecting school supplies and backpacks (new and gently used) to help students start their school year off right with the supplies they need to be successful. The goal is to fill 20 backpacks per school for the 10 public schools in Oak Forest.

Donations may be dropped off at the Oak Forest Fire Department or City Hall starting Saturday, June 1, 2019.

Monetary donations are also welcome. Cash and check donations will be accepted by Administrative Assistant Lisa Alfaro at Fire Station 1. A receipt will be issued with monetary donations. Please make checks payable to Oak Forest Firefighter Local 3039. The cost to supply one child with a backpack filled with supplies is approximately $65.00.

For any questions please contact Kurt DeGroot at kdegroot@oak-forest.org.
