Henry L. Kuspa was elected mayor in 2009. As mayor, he is Oak Forest's chief executive officer and is responsible for its administrative operations. He is also the city's liquor commissioner.
Mayor Kuspa has been very involved in city government for several years, including serving as a part-time apartment inspector and as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Over the years, Mayor Kuspa has served on the Forest-Ridge School District 142 Board of Directors, the Oak Forest Park District Advisory Board, and the city's Youth Commission. For the past 20 years, Mayor Kuspa has been an active member of the Oak Fest Committee, including serving as its chairman for several years.
As the facilities manager for Grane Transportation, Mayor Kuspa oversees operations at four Chicago area locations. His responsibilities at Grane are significant and require long hours, but they have given him a strong background for the administrative, operational, personnel, and financial issues he faces as the mayor of Oak Forest.
Mayor Kuspa and his wife Maureen have lived in Oak Forest since 1978. They have four wonderful children: Christine, Amy, Lenny, and Kim.
