Human error interrupts city’s emergency phone notification to residents during storm On Sunday, September 14, the City of Oak Forest experienced a record amount of rainfall that caused hazardous conditions on area roadways. Although the city implemented its emergency phone notification system, the recorded message did not reach most residents.

Lockwood water tower to receive face lift this year This fall, the City of Oak Forest will repaint the Lockwood Avenue water tower instead of the Oak Park Avenue water tower, which has been put on hold while the Public Works Department installs a new altitude valve in the Briar Street water tower.
