Jim Hortsman was elected mayor in April 2025. Previously, he served as 6th Ward alderman from 2013-2025. As mayor, Jim strives to be transparent and responsive to residents in an effort to meet their needs.
In addition to his public service, Jim works as an account executive for a graphic communication company. He has been in the commercial printing business in various functions, including accounting, production and sales/marketing for more than 40 years. Jim holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Dayton in Ohio.
Prior to becoming an alderman, Jim served eight years on the District 142 School Board and volunteered in various youth, civic, and high school organizations.
Jim and his wife Donna have three adult children.
